As mentioned earlier, ceramic coatings are often referred to as ‘permanent’ - This is because in order to remove them, they will require a cut and polish. While they are considered permanent, in order for them to function as you would expect and as advertised, they need a yearly maintenance but will not require a full removal and recoat as long as they are looked after as recommended by your Brisbane detailer.

Does it prevent scratches?

The short answer is no. Ceramic is a paint protection option. This refers to organic and inorganic build-ups on the surface of the car over time such as bird droppings, tar and bug splatters. Anything that could cause physical damage with a blow, like rock chips, scraping the paint alongside an obstacle, unruly tree branches - these still have potential to damage your car’s surface and cut into the ceramic and paint layers.

Does it stop water marks?

It can definitely have an impact on reducing the amount of water marks present after your car has had a quick rinse or has been out in the rain.
